NCCI Proposes Changes to Basic Manual
On January 3, 2016, NCCI filed proposed changes with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) that would clarify and enhance the Classification Assignment, Premium Basis and Payroll Allocation provisions of the NCCI Basic Manual.
NCCI has asked that the proposed changes apply to new and renewal workers' compensation policies effective on and after October 1, 2017.

Insurers may comment on the filing or request a hearing, by submitting two copies of their comments to TDI no later than 5 p.m., Central time, on February 6, 2017.
One copy of the comments must be filed with TDI’s Office of the Chief Clerk via e-mail at ChiefClerk@tdi.texas.gov or via mail at the address set out in the TDI notice. The second copy of comments must be filed with Marianne Baker, TDI’s Director of Property and Casualty Lines Office, via e-mail at CommercialPC@tdi.texas.gov or via the address set out in the TDI notice.
