This committee consists of not more than fifteen members. Its jurisdiction is to provide a forum for its members to exchange and discuss issues relevant and impactful to the commercial lines insurance industry, excluding those issues related to workers' compensation insurance. Topics will include pertinent regulatory, legislative and emerging issues as well as issues related to the Texas Administrative Code. At the request of the committee chair, the Board of Directors, and/or the Manager, the committee will review and propose changes to administrative rules from regulatory agencies, including, but not limited to, the Texas Department of Insurance and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which may affect the above-referenced markets.
The committee may identify and discuss regulatory policies, trends and other events impacting the commercial lines markets. Committee members may also prepare news articles for distribution by ICT to its members, or may provide input to whitepapers, and other educational documents for distribution to consumers, members, regulators, other insurance trade groups, and legislators for educational purposes.
