Texas Department of Insurance

The Texas Department of Insurance regulates insurers and related insurance businesses in the state of Texas, along with providing resources and assistance to insurance consumers. Located in Austin, the Department is led currently by Commissioner Kent Sullivan. The Commissioner is appointed by and accountable to the Governor of the State of Texas.
