The Insurance Council of Texas and the Association of Fire & Casualty Companies in Texas Announce the 28th Annual Property & Casualty Symposium

10/05/2020

The ICT /AFACT 28th Annual P & C Symposium kicks off Tuesday, October 6, continuing a long-standing tradition of hosting executive level leaders, agents and industry professionals who will hear from experts in the industry on matters impacting the business of insurance in Texas and beyond.

This year we have made this event available to Education Foundation Scholarship winners and students from nine Texas universities. These universities are partners with the ICT Education Foundation and received over $95,000 in awards in 2020. The mission of the Foundation is to promote careers in the insurance industry among the next generation of insurance professionals and the P&C Symposium is the primary fundraiser.

For the first time in its 28 year history, we are hosting the premier Texas industry event in a virtual format taking place over three mornings, October 6, 14 and 21, 2020 to help attendee’s busy calendars. The Symposium provides opportunities for attendees to hear current industry trends, successful strategies for navigating the Texas market, and predictions for future market conditions. This year’s agenda focuses on issues affecting business practices, finances, and marketplace changes for Texas and nationally, with attendees hearing from experts in reinsurance, technology, economics, and Texas politics,” says Albert Betts Jr. ICT’s Executive Director.

The ICT / AFACT Symposium offers five sessions over three days to reduce the impact on your busy calendars. Hear about:

  • Hurricanes, Pandemics, Fires: What that means for reinsurance
  • Politics 101: Election Thoughts and Musings on the 2021 Session
  • Property & Casualty Legislative Preview
  • Digital Transformation – Adapting to a post COVID-19 insurance world
  • Pandemics, Politics and Economics

Attendees can earn continuing education and continuing legal education credits during live sessions. All sessions will be recorded and available to registrants after the event concludes.
