DWC proposes amendments to designated doctor rules

On May 18th, TDI’s Division of Workers’ Compensation proposed amendments to the agency’s Chapter 127 designated doctor rules to provide balance and transparency to the designated doctor assignment process, retain doctors qualified to perform certain examinations, ensure availability of doctors qualified to evaluate injured employees’ injuries, clarify certain designated doctor qualification standards, and update certification requirements.
DWC is also revising DWC Form 032, Request for Designated Doctor Examination, DWC Form 068, Designated Doctor Examination Data Report, and an internal form titled "Presiding Officer’s Directive to Order a Designated Doctor Exam" to reflect the proposed rule changes.

The proposed amendments are available to view by clicking here

Comments on the proposed rule amendments must be submitted to DWC no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 18, 2018. Comments on the revised forms are due June 1, 2018.
