A Million Dollar Success Story for Insurance Education

On the evening of November 15, the Education Foundation joined with representatives from the University of North Texas in recognizing seven UNT insurance and risk management students with $10,000 in scholarships. Along with the scholarship celebration, the Foundation also surpassed a milestone as we distributed the one millionth dollar in education funding in Texas, a remarkable achievement since the program began only 15 short years ago.

Watch our video of the event below

The Education Foundation began with the idea of the property and casualty industry giving back to the citizens of Texas by supporting insurance and risk management education at Texas universities who offered degrees, certificates, or had coursework in property and casualty insurance. We currently have 10 universities participating in the scholarship and funding program.

Thanks to the generous support of ICT’s member companies and insurance professionals from around the state, the Foundation has given scholarships to nearly 500 insurance and risk management students and has provided education funding to the universities in support of their insurance and risk management programs.

It was a great night of memories but more importantly a chance to acknowledge the excellent work of the UNT students and insurance professors, along with the hundreds of other students, and other university professors who have been a part of the Education Foundation’s success story.

We are already working on the next million dollar success story. Watch this brief video on how you can become a part of this excellent program and help the students.
