Petition Filed to Extend Use of Workers’ Comp Negotiated Experience Modifiers

On April 26, 2018, the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) filed the petition with the Texas Department of Insurance asking that TDI amend Rule 4-C-4 of the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) Experience Rating Plan Manual for Workers’ Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance (NCCI Experience Rating Plan Manual) to extend the expiration date of negotiated experience modifiers for employers from July 1, 2018, to July 1, 2019.  Currently, the use of negotiated experience modifiers in Rule 4-C-4 will expire on July 1, 2018.

To comment on the petition, stakeholders must file two copies of their comments with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) by 5 p.m., Central time, on June 20, 2018. TDI’s
notice of the petition includes instructions on filing comments.
ICT’s Workers’ Compensation Committee is reviewing the petition. Written comments may be filed based upon the committee’s comments and feedback on the petition.
