Workers' Compensation Services
The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) provides its member companies with strong and effective advice and representation in workers' compensation regulatory matters, and a variety of services and products that include information and resources members need to be successful in the Texas workers' compensation system. Members benefit from our regulatory efforts and trust that ICT will keep them informed and will listen to their input and concerns.
ICT’s Workers’ Compensation Services program and staff work closely with our Workers’ Compensation Committee and our membership on regulatory issues. ICT reviews and, if needed, comments on every Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and TDI Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) proposed rule making activity impacting workers’ compensation.
Our staff is knowledgeable on workers’ compensation issues with over 40+ combined years of experience in Texas. Because of our depth of knowledge and experience, ICT is considered to be an opinion leader on workers’ compensation issues in Texas.

ICT prepares and distributes a monthly newsletter that includes the latest news regarding developments impacting the Texas workers’ compensation system, monthly Workers’ Comp News Digest, Workers’ Compensation Updates, and Workers’ Compensation Legislative Updates report on developments impacting the Texas workers' compensation system. These publications include valuable information and regulatory updates for member to help them successfully navigate Texas’ complex system.
ICT also publishes an Appeals Panel Digest and an annual report on the state of the Texas workers’ compensation system.

Education and Events
ICT provides continuing education opportunities for licensed adjusters, insurance agents, nurses, nurse case managers, attorneys and other interested individuals. Our events also provide the attendees with an opportunity to network with their peers.
Our Annual Workers’ Compensation Conference is considered by many system stakeholders, regulators, and legislative staff to be a "must attend" event. The conference provides an update on legislative, regulatory, court-related and other developments that impact the Texas System.
ICT’s Workers’ Compensation Seminars provide an overview of new rules, significant case law, and other developments that impact the day - to - day business practices of system participants.

ICT engages the TDI and DWC on a variety of regulatory issues. This includes reviewing, preparing, and submitting written comments and testimony on the agency’s rulemaking efforts, as well as discussion with agency leadership on any system or public policy issues that our members have an interest in.
