Public hearing set for October 8, 2018

TDI announced an October 8 hearing on TWIA's request to increase maximun liability limits.

TWIA is requesting approval to increase its existing maximum liability limits on windstorm and hail policies insuring residential dwelling and individually-owned townhouses and associated contents. Currently, the limits for residential dwellings and townhouses is capped at $1,773,000. TWIA is seeking approval to raise liability limits to $1,847,000. TWIA also seeks increased limits for contents of apartments, condominiums, or townhouses; commercial structures and associated contents; and governmental structures and associated contents.

The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 8, in the Mattax Hearing Room at the William P. Hobby Jr. State Office Building, 333 Guadalupe in Austin. Audio of the hearing will be live-streamed, with access to the broadcast in the link below. ICT will monitor the hearing and report any developments to our members.

Written comments may also be submitted. Comments must be received by the close of the hearing on October 8.
