Congratulations to Julian Villarreal, a senior at Baylor University majoring in Business Administration with a focus on Risk Management/Insurance and Criminal Justice. Julian has a unique background having experienced an internship as a Congressional Aide in our nation’s capital as well as an insurance background in risk management. As the senior vice president of Gamma Iota Sigma, the insurance fraternity, at Baylor, he often shared the benefits of a career in the insurance industry with his peers.
This ICT Scholar says that, “Risk Management is a unique and invigorating way to help the community. When I was awarded the ICT scholarship I was introduced to meaningful leaders within the industry. This led to my internship as a Bond and Specialty Insurance Underwriter with Travelers Insurance. As an underwriting intern at Travelers I have been a part of the process that helps keep businesses protected from a world of risk.”
Julian invested his ICT scholarship into working toward multiple certifications offered by the Risk Management Association in credit analysis and operational risk management. As he says, “The scholarship did a lot for my career and contributed to where I am today.”
