Thank you for awarding me this scholarship. It helped me take summer classes and continue in my education towards a degree in Finance with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance. I hope to one day be able to follow the Insurance Council of Texas example and provide funds for exemplary students pursuing risk management.
My internship at CoVerica insurance has allowed me to have hands on experience with insurance. I’m also preparing to earn a Property and Casualty license and whatever other certifications necessary to launch my career.
As an active member of Gamma Iota Sigma, I attend meetings and volunteer for community service events. GIS has given me an exposure to insurance companies and opportunities to meet new people. As an intern at CoVerica in personal lines, but I have gained much knowledge of commercial lines as well. I am grateful to have been given the chance to expand upon my current understanding and exposure to this product line.
I love learning new things. If I do not know or understand something, then I make it my goal to comprehend and I am grateful to have been given the chance to expand upon what understanding I previously had. I think in this industry, it is possible to learn something new every day. I appreciate ICT for helping me pursue this career path.
