August 18, 2020

Since October 2017, Kent Sullivan has led the Texas Department of Insurance shortly after Hurricane Harvey's catastrophic impact to a large swath of our state.  During his tenure, Sullivan is credited with leading a modernization effort to enhance the department's services and response.

A Governor Abbott appointee, Sullivan thanked Abbott for the opportunity to, "help out in a challenging time."

TDI regulates the second-largest insurance market in the nation and the seventh-largest in the world.

"We wish Commissioner Sullivan the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his work in leading regulation of an industry that is so vital to the prosperity and growth of our great state," says ICT Executive Director, Albert Betts.

According to today's announcement, Sullivan will remain in his role until September.
